The Australia Day Council of New South Wales and NewsLocal asked readers to submit a photograph and caption that responds to the question ‘How has your local area made a mark on your life?' Entries are now closed and public voting commences 12 December at your NewsLocal newspaper website.

The winning entry from each participating newspaper will win four tickets to an exclusive Australia Day BBQ at Taronga Zoo’s private Soden Lawns, with food, beverages, and sweeping views of Sydney Harbour on Australia’s biggest day all included.
One overall lucky winner will also take home a digital SLR camera courtesy of NewsLocal and a voucher for Taronga’s Photography Course by Taronga Training Institute valued at $565.
