There are some great prizes on offer for the NewsLocal readers, with the winning entry from each newspaper receiving four tickets to an exclusive Australia Day BBQ at Taronga Zoo’s private Soden Lawns, with food, beverages, and sweeping views of Sydney Harbour on Australia’s biggest day all included.
You will also be able to enjoy an amazing day exploring Taronga Zoo with your family and friends.

One of the lucky winners from the 20 participating NewsLocal Newspapers throughout Sydney will also walk home with a digital SLR camera courstesy of NewsLocal and a voucher for Taronga’s Photography Course delivered by Taronga Training Institute, Photography Basics, valued at $565.
Photography Basics is a two-day training course designed to give participants the basics of great photography in one of Australia’s most unique and scenic locations – Taronga Zoo!

The Taronga Training Institute (TTI) offers great wildlife experiences and accredited training and short courses by field experts, with inspirational teaching. From animal studies and tourism, to photography and spending a special day with our keepers, there’s something for everyone. ‘Keeper for a Day’ and ‘Animal Training’ are one or two day experiences that provide a truly unique insight into one of the most rewarding professions in the world. We also provide accredited training with the unique experience of working on site while you study to achieve certificates in animal studies, as well as specialised short courses offered by field experts, like Photography Basics and Wildlife Rescue.
No matter what you choose, you’ll enjoy the memorable and inspiring experience of being in a unique and special NSW wildlife location – Taronga Zoo. Some courses are also offered at our incredible open-range zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.
