Little Man's Business by Suzanne Wilson, NSW

I am trying to instill into my children pride for themselves and their indigenous heritage. With so many messages about the "right way" to be an Australian, a solid grounding in their culture, a good education, a loving home and a recognition of the humanity of each individual human being on the planet, is my gift to them. Hopefully this will equip them to be strong, intelligent leaders of our future Australia. This image portrays my son, performing the Wedge Tail Eagle Dance, ochred in the dust of his country, surrounded (out of shot) by Elders and community members, learning the ways of his ancestors. Seeing how strong he is, and how focussed - how could a mother or a nation be more proud?

Embrace Friendship by Jackie Hewett, NSW

Australia Day is just one event on the calendar that our 'Mothers' Group' gets together on every year. There are 4 families, we all have 2 children each and we love it when we're all together. We go through the same 'stuff' at the same time and we are all here for each other. From having our children, we have made friendships for the rest of our lives. This image captures the simplicity and joy of a moment in time that we don't ever have to forget!
