My boyfriend and I drove 2,500 kms from Sydney to the Birdsville Races, camping all the way, and met my family there. They had driven from Townsville across the top of Australia and then across central Australia from Carnarvon to Birdsville. It was the best holiday I've ever been on, notwithstanding 3 years spent in Europe. We all had a terrific time at the races ! I took this photo when I noticed the others on the top of the dune watching all of the motorbikes and 4WDs trying to get over Big Red. No mean feat.
