Do you feel more proud when Australia is succeeding internationally in the sporting arena, rather than in any other field (science, medicine, the arts etc)?

No. Half the world doesn't care about sport. How can you be proud beating people who didn't care, or weren't trying?

Not any more, it's a given we're good at sport! I now feel far more proud when it's acknowledged that we've got more to offer.

I actually feel shamed by it. Sport doesn't really progress us at all. Science and the arts/culture should be more of a focus.

I feel equally proud of all success; but might only hear about a science achievement on ABC News while sport is trumpeted over & over by all

no, i don't. more funding needs to be given to science, medicine and the arts so australia can complete internationally in these fields too

No. Australia places too much value on sporting achievement. While it is important, I'd rather Australians were responsible for saving lives

No, I feel ashamed that we value mindless physical prowess over intellectual achievement or artistic expression.

I don't have a right to feel proud if a resident of Australia achieves anything, that's their individual achievement, I did nothing.

It is nice to win in the sporting arena, but the glory will only last until the next event, or cricket scandal. Let's cure cancer instead.

No, sport is only one field. I wish other fields were respected & celebrated more - they are getting sports heroes new technology to succeed

I'd be more proud to see Australians making medical discoveries and succeeding in other areas that will benefit people.

I feel proud watching football matches and knowing that we are the only country in the world to have dicovered the delights of football.

I am proud of all our sportspeople when they have a go and we have some great sporting heroes. Sadly some Aussies seem to think we have an unspoken right to win and have forgotten that our sportsmanship is what made us a great sporting nation.

i would love to share the same pride about science that I do with sports, but I rarely hear about such success. sports sells and unfortunatly science seems to take a backward step on tv unless it is a weightloss or baldness miracle cure. how sad.
