Do you think Uluru reflects 'Australia’s identity and culture' more so than the Sydney Harbour Bridge?

There is something so spiritual about Uluru that I feel better reflects our unique Aussie identity; the red earth, our indigenous culture!

No, its a big rock to most of us. It represents a notion of Australia thats more abouts tourists. The Bridge is something we built and use

Definitely the rock is the way to go. What could be more representative of the origins of our beautiful nation? The heart of Australia..

Yes. I've seen many SHBs all over the world. There's only one Uluru.

No - the bridge shows our creative and mateship character which is more our identity than a red rock that most Ozzies have never been to

It's sad that it isn't, when people would rather climb it. Although people laughed at the Chaser skit, but it had an intelligent message.

The rock is isolated and unchanging. A bridge connects people and allows cultures to mix.

So long as we remember to respect the Indigenous People's ownership of Uluru, then yes. People who climb it have no respect.

Australia doesn't have one identity. It is a mix of indigenous and western culture. One shouldn't be placed higher than the other.

Definitely. Uluru represents our past as well as present. The Sydney Harbour Bridge represents Sydney

Definately not! Uluru is a part of Australia that both Aussies & visitors admire but the bridge & harbour are iconic of our lifestyle!

Natural, spiritual, history. vs constructed, functional, history. We need to embrace both as our identity & culture. We are a diverse nation

Sydney Harbour Bridge shows our courage & determination. Built in mainly tough times it has became a symbol of pride for all Australians.

The Bridge-people see it on arrival in Australia & it represents our strength of character and abililty to work together during tough times.

The bridge is more symbolic of European settlement, whereas Uluru is literally an irreplacable part of Aust, reflecting its harsh beauty.

No the Sydney Harbour Bridge is an architectural marvel. Uluru is just a lump of rock in the desert which does not represent anything.

I think both reflect different aspects of Australia. We should be proud of both the natural and man made structures we have in our country.Report

Both are great symbols. Uluru reflects our nation's natural wonder&beauty. Harbour Bridge reflects our moving with the times and innovation.

I think the harbour bridge and the opera house show how we are moving forward and signifies how we have developed as a nation.

I have lived here 46yrs, and have never been to Uluru, most people I know that have grown up have not been there either. The Bridge though is a significant icon and is recognised all over the world, it is the thing that I associate with being home.

Uluru represents the identity of Australia more to myself. The vast open country! As for the culture, neither. That's more about the people!

i think alot of us would like Uluru to mean more, but with the restrictions in access and photographing it means that the Harbour bridge is more identifyable to many of us. it represents something to all australian not just Indigenous.

I hated it, I hated been over charged, I hated that you couldnt drive around it close, I hated how over commercialised it was. It is so not Australian anymore. I much prefer Mt Augustus, butterfly springs, Karajini, cape York, Vic High country, etc
